Entry Deadline Approaching for 25th Annual Star City Holiday Parade (Wednesday, September 9, 2009) FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASESeptember 9, 2009 For more information contact: Frances Schoonveld – (402) 434-6902 Lincoln, NE – The 25th Annual Star City Holiday Parade will take place Saturday, December 5, 2009 in Downtown Lincoln. The Parade will step off at 11:00 a.m., with Pre-Parade entertainment beginning at 10:00 a.m. The theme for this year’s Parade is “Dreams. Memories. Wishes.” The entry deadline is approaching to be in the 25th celebration. Entries include floats, walking units, balloons, bands, animal and equestrian units, unique vehicles and costumed characters. Applications can be obtained by calling Parade Headquarters at (402) 434-6902 or by visiting www.starcityholidayparade.org. The application deadline is September 18, 2009. “Updowntowners and the City of Lincoln are excited to partner for the 25th Annual Star City Holiday Parade. The Star City Holiday Parade is produced by volunteers, including a volunteer Steering Committee and is the largest of its kind in the five-state region. The Parade brings many visitors to the Lincoln community and is viewed by more than 150,000 viewers, both on the street and through a television broadcast. Applications for bands and entries are reviewed by a volunteer selection committee. Entries will be selected based on entertainment value, originality, design concept, adherence to the theme, technical design, choreography, costuming and props.
