Getting to Know Your Updowntowners Board of Directors with Staci Hass (Wednesday, November 25, 2009) With Staci Hass, Celebrate Lincoln ChairWhere do you work? Allstate (aka Lincoln Benefit Life) Tell us a bit about your company and what makes you unique? Well, Allstate sells property & casualty insurance, but also Finanacial products (Life and Annuity). I work for the life company, so I'm pretty sure when people ask me about their auto or home policy and I have no clue they think I'm lying about where I work. One of my favorite things about Lincoln Benefit Life is their committment to charitable giving and how they encourage employees to volunteer! What is your favorite quote? "We don't quit playing because we grow old, we grow old because we quit playing." - Oliver Wendall Holmes What is your favorite thing to do on a day off? I can't think of a better way to spend a day off than volunteering for an Updowntowners event! If there's not one available I guess I do have a life - I like to go on trips (Vegas is a favorite), spend time with my nephews, play a little golf (not very well), or take my dog for a nice long walk. How did you get involved with Updowntowners? Teresa Ingram recruited me to be on the steering committee for Celebrate Lincoln. I attended a couple of social events and was hooked. What is your favorite thing about being involved with Updowntowners? The feeling of accomplishment when you are part of a great event. I love walking around Celebrate Lincoln and watching all the partons having a great time or to see how much everyone enjoys the Star City Holiday Parade. It's always a lot of hard work leading up to that moment, but it makes it all worth it. What is the most rewarding part of being in a leadership role with Updowntowners? The great people I work with and their committment to the organization. When I joined I really wanted to meet a fantastic, diverse group of people and my expectations were exceeded! |
